The closest airport to Hidden Valley is in San Diego. For this reason, most people find it more convenient to fly to San Diego than to Los Angeles. From San Diego Airport, Cloud Nine Shuttle can take you by van to the ashram. If you fly into Los Angeles, you can rent a car, or take public transportation such as Greyhound or Amtrak. An airport bus or shuttle can take you from Los Angeles International Airport to the Greyhound bus terminal downtown. From there, you can take a bus to Escondido. From Los Angeles, you may also take the Amtrak train to Oceanside, then a local bus (#320) to Escondido.
From San Diego Airport

All buses will take you to downtown Escondido. When you arrive, please call Hidden Valley Ashram (749-3399) and we will send someone to pick you up.
From San Diego, you can take a Greyhound bus directly to Escondido.
From Los Angeles, you can take a Greyhound bus to Oceanside, then transfer to a bus bound for Escondido. The San Diego North County Transit bus system also provides bus service from Oceanside to Escondido. From Los Angeles, you can also take a Greyhound bus directly to Escondido, via San Diego.
From Encinitas, take Bus #301 south on S. Hwy. 101 and request a transfer. Get off at the Solana Beach Station. Get on Bus #308 to Escondido. Get off at the Escondido bus terminal at Valley Parkway and Quince. Call Hidden Valley for a ride to the ashram.

Please see Detail Map or instructions below. If you drive, you should allow about three hours from Los Angeles, one and a half hours from San Diego, or one hour from Encinitas.
From Los Angeles
Take I-5 south to Oceanside.
Exit onto Highway 78 East.
Drive about 15 miles.
About a mile after you pass the I-15 interchange, the 78 freeway ends at Broadway (there's a traffic light). Turn right onto Broadway.
Go two blocks, then turn left onto Washington Ave. Continue east about five miles. Washington curves to the right and ends at Valley Parkway.
Turn left onto Valley Parkway.
Turn right at the next traffic light, Lake Wohlford Rd. Drive 4.5 miles.
As the road curves to the left (the curve is marked by black-and-yellow signs), turn right onto Guejito Road. You will see a sign giving the distance to Hidden Valley. Drive one mile.
You will see a cluster of mailboxes and a second Hidden Valley sign where the road forks. Turn right onto Old Guejito Grade Road. Drive one mile. The ashram is on the left-hand side.
From Encinitas
From the Encinitas Retreat, turn right (east) onto K St.
Turn left (north) onto South Coast Highway (101). Drive about 10 blocks.
Turn right onto Encinitas Blvd.
After two traffic lights, take Freeway 5 North. Drive about eight miles.
Exit onto Highway 78 East.
Drive about 15 miles.

Go 15.2 miles to Via Rancho Parkway.
Take Via Rancho Parkway Exit. Go 0.4 mile and turn right.
Via Rancho Parkway becomes Bear Valley Parkway. Go 5.7 mile.
Turn right onto East Valley Parkway. Go 0.4 miles.
Turn right onto Lake Wohlford Rd. Go 4.5 miles.

Option 1: Airport shuttle (Cloud 9 Shuttle)

When you make the reservation, explain that you are going to the SRF Hidden Valley Ashram. Mention that the fee is usually $37 (We have no control over this and fees are subject to change).
Option 2: Rental car
Rent a car at San Diego airport with an arrangement to drop it off in Escondido. Drive straight to the Ashram (directions below). You may return the car the next day. We will bring you back from the car rental in Escondido to the ashram.
Driving Directions
From the airport exit, turn left on N. Harbor Dr. Go two miles.
Turn left on W. Grape St. Go 0.4 mile.
Turn right onto I-5 South. Go 0.5 mile and exit onto Highway 163 North.
Take Highway 163 North toward Escondido. After 10 miles the highway will merge with I-15.
Go 15.2 miles to Via Rancho Parkway.
Take Via Rancho Parkway exit. Go 0.4 mile and turn right.
Via Rancho Parkway becomes Bear Valley Parkway. Go 5.7 miles.
Turn right onto East Valley Parkway. Go 0.4 miles.
Turn right into Lake Wohlford Rd. Go 4.5 miles.
Turn right into Old Guejito Rd. Go one mile.
Veer right at mailboxes onto Old Guejito Grade Road. The ashram is on the left hand side of the road.
Option 3: Greyhound Bus (Customer Service: 1-619-239-4007)
From the airport, take a shuttle or taxi to the bus station at 120 W. Broadway, San Diego, CA 92101. Board the bus to Escondido Transit Center. Call us when you arrive (749-3399) and we will pick you up.
NOTE: Please let us know beforehand the day and approximate time of your arrival. We will send a car to pick you up after you call following your arrival. Our office hours are 8:30 AM to noon, and 1-4:30 PM. You must call during office hours for the pickup. If you call us outside those hours, no one will be at the office to take your call. Please try to reach Escondido Transit Center by 4 PM. No pickups on Sundays.
From LAX
Option 1: Rental car
Rent a car at LAX airport with an arrangement to drop it off in Escondido. We will pick you up at any car rental in Escondido and bring you to the ashram. This may be an expensive option because there might be a drop off fee charged by the car rental company. This is also the best option.

Option 2: Amtrak
Total travel time from LAX to Escondido Transit Center (not including wait time) is about four hours and 45 minutes. First let us know approximately at what time you think you will get to Escondido Transit Center. You still need to call us at 760-749-3399 when you get to Escondido Transit Center, because only after we receive your phone call we will send someone out to pick you up. Our office hours are 8:30 AM to 12:00 Noon, 1:00PM to 4:30PM. You must call us during the office hours for the pick up. If you call us outside those hours, no one will be at the office to take your phone call. Please try to reach Escondido Transit Center by 4:00PM and call us.
Take public transportation to Union Station. Go to the Amtrak counter and purchase a ticket to Oceanside (for rates, visit www.amtrak.com or call 1-800-872-7245). Ride time is about two hours.
At the Oceanside Transit Station, board Bus #302 to Escondido. It departs every 15 minutes. Ride Time is about one hour and 45 minutes.
Call Hidden Valley Ashram (749-3399) from Escondido Transit Center. We will send someone to pick you up.
Option 3: Greyhound Bus
From LAX, take an airport shuttle (such as Super Shuttle or Prime Time Shuttle) to the nearest Greyhound bus station in Los Angeles.
