The closest airport to Hidden Valley is in San Diego. For this reason, most people find it more convenient to fly to San Diego than to Los Angeles. From San Diego Airport, Cloud Nine Shuttle can take you by van to the ashram. If you fly into Los Angeles, you can rent a car, or take public transportation such as Greyhound or Amtrak. An airport bus or shuttle can take you from Los Angeles International Airport to the Greyhound bus terminal downtown. From there, you can take a bus to Escondido. From Los Angeles, you may also take the Amtrak train to Oceanside, then a local bus (#320) to Escondido.
From San Diego Airport

Please see Detail Map or instructions below. If you drive, you should allow about three hours from Los Angeles, one and a half hours from San Diego, or one hour from Encinitas.
From Los Angeles - I-5 Freeway
Take I-5 south to Oceanside.
Exit onto Highway 78 East.
Drive about 15 miles.
About a mile after you pass the I-15 interchange, the 78 freeway ends at Broadway (there's a traffic light).
Turn RIGHT onto Broadway. Drive 2 blocks.
Turn LEFT on Washington Ave. Drive about 4-5 miles.
Washington Ave intersects with El Norte Pkwy at a traffic light.
Turn RIGHT, continuing on Washington Ave. for .5 of a mile to Valley Pkwy.
Turn LEFT on Valley Parkway.
Turn RIGHT at the 3rd traffic light onto Lake Wohlford Rd. Drive 4.5 miles.
As the road curves to the left, which is marked by 3 black-and-yellow signs, turn RIGHT onto Guejito Road.
Drive 1 mile to a fork in the road.
Guejito Road forks to the left and Old Guejito Grade Road to the RIGHT.
Bear RIGHT onto Old Guejito Grade Road. Drive 1 mile.
The ashram is on the left-hand side.
From Los Angeles - 15 Freeway
Take the 15 South freeway from 210 or 10 or 60 freeways. You will be driving about 125 miles on the 15 until you reach 78 freeway.
Take 78 East.
After a few exits, 78 East ends in the city of Escondido. Turn LEFT into Broadway.
After one block, turn RIGHT into El Norte Pkwy. Drive about 4-5 miles.
Turn LEFT on Valley Parkway.
Turn RIGHT at the 3rd traffic light onto Lake Wohlford Rd.
On right hand side, you will see every half mile marked on small posts. Drive almost exactly 4.5 miles.
As the road curves to the left, which is marked by 3 black-and-yellow signs, turn RIGHT onto Guejito Road.
Drive 1 mile to a fork in the road. Guejito Road forks to the left and Old Guejito Grade Road to the RIGHT. Bear RIGHT onto Old Guejito Grade Road. Drive 1 mile.
The ashram is on the left-hand side.
From Encinitas
From the Encinitas Retreat/Ashram, turn RIGHT into “K” St.
Turn LEFT into South Coast Highway (101). Drive about 10 blocks.
Turn right into Encinitas Blvd.
After two traffic lights, take Freeway 5 North. Drive about 8 miles.
Take Freeway 78 East (towards Ramona).
Drive about 15 miles and pass Freeway 15 intersection.
78 East ends in the city of Escondido. Turn RIGHT onto Broadway.
After two blocks, turn LEFT into Washington Ave. Drive about 4-5 miles.
Washington Ave intersects with El Norte Pkwy at a traffic light.
Turn RIGHT, continuing on Washington Ave. for .5 of a mile to Valley Pkwy.
Turn LEFT on Valley Parkway.
Turn RIGHT at the 3rd traffic light onto Lake Wohlford Rd. Drive 4.5 miles.

From San Diego
Take Highway 163 North toward Escondido. After 10 miles the highway will merge with I-15.
Go 15.2 miles to Via Rancho Parkway.
Take Via Rancho Parkway Exit. Go 0.4 mile and turn right.
Via Rancho Parkway becomes Bear Valley Parkway. Go 5.7 mile.
Turn right onto East Valley Parkway. Go 1.3 miles.
Turn right onto Lake Wohlford Rd. Go 4.5 miles.
As the road curves to the left (the curve is marked by black-and-yellow signs), turn right onto Guejito Road. You will see a sign giving the distance to Hidden Valley. Drive one mile.
You will see a cluster of mailboxes and a second Hidden Valley sign where the road forks. Turn right onto Old Guejito Grade Road. Drive one mile. The ashram is on the left-hand side.
- Public Trasportation (Train & Bus)
All buses will take you to downtown Escondido. When you arrive, please call Hidden Valley Ashram (760-749-3399) and we will send someone to pick you up.
From San Diego, you can take a Greyhound bus directly to Escondido.
From Los Angeles, you can take a Greyhound bus to Oceanside, then transfer to a bus bound for Escondido. The San Diego North County Transit bus system also provides bus service from Oceanside to Escondido. From Los Angeles, you can also take a Greyhound bus directly to Escondido, via San Diego.
From Encinitas:
By Train (Better option than the bus)
From Encinitas Station take the COASTER train (or bus Route# 101 going north) to Oceanside Transit Center. From there take the “SPRINTER” train, which leaves every 30 minutes on weekdays, to Escondido Transit Center (ETC.)
Pick up from ETC: A Hidden Valley driver can pick you up from ETC. A day or two before your arrival let us know approximately at what time you think you will get to ETC. You still need to call us at 760-749-3399 when you get there, because only after we receive your phone call we will send a driver out to pick you up. Our office hours are 8:30am to 12:00 noon, 1:00pm to 4:30pm. You must call us during the office hours for the pick up. If you call us outside those hours, no one will be at the office to take your phone call. Please try to reach ETC by 4:00pm and call us. No pickup on weekends.
By Bus
From Encinitas Station, take the bus Route# 101 (going south) to Solana Beach.
From Solana Beach, take the bus Route# 308 to Escondido Transit Center. To arrange a pick up from ETC, see above (“Pick up from ETC”.)

Option 1: Airport shuttle (Super Shuttle aka CLOUD-9 SHUTTLE)
At the airport Baggage Claim level, you may board Cloud-9 Airport SuperShuttle, which brings you directly to the Ashram doorstep.

Option 2: Rental car
Rent a car at San Diego airport with an arrangement to drop it off in Escondido. Drive straight to the Ashram (directions below). You may return the car the next day. We will bring you back from the car rental in Escondido to the ashram.

Turn LEFT on W. Grape St. Drive 0.4 mile.
Turn Right onto I-5 South. Drive 0.5 mile.
Exit to CA-163 NORTH exit Escondido. Drive 10.4 miles.
Exit to I-15 NORTH. Go 15.2 miles.
Exit on Via Rancho Parkway and turn Right off the ramp. Go 0.4 mile.
Via Rancho Parkway becomes Bear Valley Parkway. Drive 5.7 mile.

Option 3: Train Service
From San Diego airport Terminals 1or 2 or the Commuter Terminal, board bus #992, “The Flyer,” for a 10-minute ride to Coaster and Amtrak stations in San Diego. Take the COASTER train or Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train to Oceanside (50 minutes.) From there, take the SPRINTER train to Escondido (55 minutes.) We will pick you up from there.

Option 4: Local Bus
From San Diego airport Terminals 1or 2 or the Commuter Terminal, board bus #992, “The Flyer” and get off at 1st & Broadway. Walk one block to 1st and “B” St. Take bus #810 Express to Escondido Transit Center. We will pick you up from there.

Option 1: Rental Car
Rent a car at LAX airport with an arrangement to drop it off in Escondido. We will pick you up at any car rental office in Escondido. This may be an expensive option because there might be a drop off fee charged by the car rental company. This is also the best option.

TAKE 405 SOUTH which merges into I-5
TAKE I-5 SOUTH to Oceanside.
EXIT onto 78 EAST to Escondido. Drive about 15 miles.
78 ends at Broadway at a traffic light.
Turn RIGHT onto Broadway. Drive 2 blocks.
Turn LEFT on Washington Ave. Drive about 4-5 miles.
Turn RIGHT on El Norte Pkwy. Drive about half a mile.
Turn LEFT on Valley Parkway.

Option 2: Public Transportation (Train & Bus)
From LAX, first you need to go to Union Station, take an AMTRAK train for Oceanside, then a bus to Escondido and finally a car ride to Hidden Valley. Follow the four steps below:
1. From LAX, go to Union Station: Take the FLYAWAY Bus.
FlyAway buses pick up passengers from every LAX terminal on the Arrival/Lower level under the green signs indicating "FlyAway, Buses and Long-Distance Vans," every 30 minutes on the hour and half-hour. The one-way fare is $4, cash only.
Transit time from LAX to Union Station: Approximately 45 minutes.
2. From Union Station, go to Oceanside: Take an AMTRAK train to Oceanside Transit Center.
Ride time is about 2 hours and it's about $19 for the ride. Amtrak: 1-800-872-7245 or www.amtrak.com. This is also where you board the train to Escondido.
3. From Oceanside to Escondido by train: From Oceanside Transit Center, take the SPRINTER train to Escondido Transit Center. The trains leave every 30 minutes. Transit time is about 55 minutes and it's about $3 for the ride. For schedule, visit www.GoNCTD.com.
4. From Escondido, go to Hidden Valley Ashram: From Escondido Transit Center, call us at 760-749-3399. We will send a driver to pick you up.
